The Miss + Junior Miss Hanover Abilities Pageant, sponsored by A1 Asphalt Paving and Sealing, LLC., was established in 2017 as a fundraiser for Hanover Community Support Services (HCSS), a local Hanover County non-profit organization. It is also designed to offer girls and women with special needs an opportunity to shine and educate the community on what differently-abled people are truly capable of. This event has become a staple in the Mechanicsville community, drawing in an audience of over 400 people each year. Money raised from the pageant funds all of HCSS's programs for the year. Money will be allocated to our general, respite and summer camp funds as well as scholarship funds, the youth council budget and more.
